I’m so glad that science has come as far as it has that now I can swab the inside of my mouth and no longer have to guess what will work best for me.
Genetics are complicated but I spent so many hours trying to eat right and workout where my body would respond the best. I think most of us realize that we are all so very different and what works for him/her won’t necessarily work for you. That’s why some people thrive off of Keto and some are just miserable and make no progress at all. Well I took this DNA test and found out so much about myself. Lets dig into some of what I learned, below is the topics the report covers.

I’ll just pick out a few of the topics that either surprised me the most or I personally found the most interesting.

So here is my “fat loss with exercise” page. Major bummer but not a shocker that I am the least efficient at losing fat with exercise. For a long time I would do a 20 minute easy workout and wouldn’t see results. Well genetically it makes sense now. In order to see the best results for me I need to have more intensity in my workouts and need to do both cardio and strength training (which I now do). If you are one of those research types you can even research the genes they tested and get further details (located in the orange box).

The couple times I really tried to workout before being consistent with it I would get so sore and the people I worked out with didn’t seem to complain or were ready to workout again way before I was. Well no wonder! I have slow recovery. This part of my report said that it’s common for me to have soreness up to 72 hours later, that I need to stretch and use foam rollers to help. I also added a quality post workout drink which also helps with soreness (you can find it here if your interested: https://betransformed.idlife.com/shop/products/fitness/postworkout)

Medium sensitivity to carbs

Medium sensitivity to fats
Since I have a medium sensitivity to both Carbs and Fats a keto diet won’t work well because the fats would be too high. These sections break it down to very precise percentages I should consume daily of each which is awesome if you are wanting to tackle this with precision.
These are just a few of the ~40 pages of data about me and my genes. Breaking down each section to the science, the action steps and how to improve your results. Since genes never change I also don’t have to worry about this stuff changing and my report will always be valid. If you do please let me know, I’d love to hear about what you learned about yourself!
All my love,
Stephanie
