Get spicy!

One of my most used tips for eating healthier is SPICES. So once you get to the point where you are actually eating grilled chicken or good healthy proteins and vegetables you might start to get bored. Well we can’t have that.

Meal prep is your friend but what use is it if you won’t eat it? Well I’m one of those people who can eat the same breakfast or lunch all week without much issue, this is made even easier with SPICES. What I mean by that is I may have chicken for lunch all week but I didn’t just add sea salt and pepper. BORING!! I add a BBQ rub to one chicken breast, and a spicy Mrs. Dash to another, the others will also be seasoned differently. The same is true for your veggies or anything you eat. The truth is if you can overcome the boring nature of healthy eating YOU WIN!

Seriously, planning and making your meals is so important but if you can enjoy them, then you win.

This isn’t always step one for eating healthier in my opinion, step one is different for everyone. Some people just need to start with eating at home. Other people already skip the drive through or restaurants but aren’t making healthy foods, so for them it would be to start making healthy versions of foods they already love, or adding more veggies or smaller portions. If you are further along then you might need to make healthy foods with less processed ingredients. No matter what, you need to start with a plan of action and go for it! Don’t make this complicated or overwhelming, just recently (over 3 years into my health journey) I’ve started adding a new fruit or vegetable to my groceries every time so that I can add to the foods I love (some have been duds but MEH who cares). This is just one more way I’m expanding my pallet to hopefully have more foods I love. Whatever you do and where ever you are in eating healthier just try, make some effort and keep at it. Your taste buds will adjust and change and you may even start craving these new foods!
