So I’ve made a bunch of these in the past, because if I make a whole cake I will eat the whole cake. That’s now how I should treat my body, so I opt to make a small single serving version.
Since I’ve tried so many versions (usually whatever is the first one to pop up on a quick search) I can tell you with a confident spirit that this one is the best one I’ve found. Without further ado (that’s really how ado is spelled? ok.)

Chocolate microwave mug cake
- 3 Tbls all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbls sugar
- 2 Tbls cocoa power
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt (not required but I recommend)
Mix the above then add the wet ingredients below
- 3 Tbls milk
- 3 Tbls oil (I used avocado oil)
- splash of vanilla extract
- 3 Tbls of chocolate chips
Mix together and microwave for 90 seconds. Let cool for a few minutes and add a frosting if your heart so desires. That’s it!
