My goal is 1%

1% seems so very small but if you get 1% better every day how much ground could you cover in a month, a year, 5 years etc.? Major ground that’s the amount you’d cover. What does that look like?

Well it might mean if you have a fitness goal that you just put on your workout clothes. You don’t have to do anything but that. Then the next day you commit to putting on your workout clothes and holding a plank for as long as you can. Day 3 might be the first two days plus a 5 minute workout you found on Pinterest. See what I mean?

For eating better it could look like making a healthier version of your favorite foods. I’ve you’ve already been doing that then you’d up the ante by adding more veggies to your meals or only having fruit for dessert. 1% doesn’t have the overwhelming feelings of totally modifying your life for your goals right away.

This path worked for me when I went slowly (VERYYYY SLOWLY) from a person who literally could not walk a mile at a time. I literally was so out of shape I had to stop and sit down around the 1/4 mile mark for a minute or two. It took me a couple weeks but I got there. If I hadn’t started with just putting on my workout clothes and grabbing my headphones and heading to the park I never would have gotten to where I am today. To date I’ve run a 10:51 minute mile. I shock myself when I say that but it’s true!

This concept works with anything we wish to accomplish. Try it out and let me know how it went! You got this and remember when you fall, it’s not a failure unless you don’t get back up.
